The Time of Our Lives

We just returned from an almost two week excursion in Europe. It's so so good to be back home.To enjoy ice in my drinks, wash all that dirty laundry, drive my car instead of walking everywhere, and to sleep in my own bed are just a few of the little luxuries I was grateful to get to experience again. Also, our first meal being back on US soil was Chickfila. Ah, coming home is so so sweet. :)

Our travels first took us to Paris for six days and then Amsterdam for four days. I honestly was overall more excited to visit Paris when I was planning our trip so I put a lot more energy and time into planning out our days in France. We got to see a whole awful lot in those six days. Everything was so beautiful but our days were very full and our feet very tired by the end of that week. By the time we arrived in Amsterdam we were exhausted and decided to just take the more laid-back approach our last four days in Europe. We had a few things that we wanted to see and do but for the most part we just explored, ate, relaxed, and just enjoyed being in a different country. We loved Paris but fell in love with Amsterdam. Josh and I felt it right away. After the hustle and bustle of being in such a huge and touristy city it was a breath of fresh air to arrive at the more quaint, and chill city of Amsterdam. People seemed to be more relaxed about life. There were so many people our age. Just starting off in life. Seeking adventure. Having a good time with friends. People seemed so genuinely happy. Amsterdam has so many hip coffee shops and cafes. There are bicycles everywhere. I mean, everywhere. More bikes than people. Known fact.

I'll dive into more detail later. I've decided to chronicle our trip on here. I was really surprised at how many people took genuine interest in our travel photos and posts. I wanted to record our travels as a way for me to online journal our time spent overseas, to catch family and friends up on our trip, and as a way to share our experiences in these two wonderful cities to anyone hoping to travel there in the near future. I can't wait to share with you all our journey abroad.

If you'd like to see a mini photo album of our travels then find us on Instagram under the hashtag: #thebriggsabroad. :)

Stay tuned!
Hannah
