Some of My Favorite Ladies

In honor of the world recognizing "International Women's Day" yesterday, I would like to pay tribute to some of my favorite ladies. I am so thankful to have been born a woman. I embrace my femininity wholeheartedly and realize that it is a gift from God that can be used in unique ways different from that of a man yet compliment him beautifully. I also salute my father and husband along with other very special men in my life who have always shown me value and worth. So here's to some of my favorite ladies and their unique gifts they bring to this world...

The biblical lady who I was named after has always been someone that I have looked up to and aspire to exhibit the same unwavering faith. She prayed earnestly for a child and God honored her prayers and gave her a son, Samuel, who she gave back the Lord to serve Him.

Audrey Hepburn

My favorite actress was also a humanitarian who donated so much of her time and money to helping others around the world.

Corrie ten Boom

Author of The Hiding Place, Corrie and her family hid Jews during WWII and was later sent to a concentration camp where she survived to share her story on the goodness and faithfulness of God.

Amy Carmichael

Amy rescued young girls that were being used for prostitution in a temple in India. She opened an orphanage and spent most of her life providing a home for these children.

L.M. Montgomery

One of my favorite authors who penned the Anne of Green Gables series and The Blue Castle to name just a few of her works. Her "scope for the imagination" is what draws me to her writings.

Joni Eareckson Tada

Paralyzed from a diving accident at the age of seventeen, Joni has spent the majority of her life as a quadriplegic sharing her testimony with others on how she came to the point of realizing every moment and trial in our life is sovereignly ordained by God and for His glory.

Cindy Currin

My Mom. This list would not be complete without this amazing lady. She has taught me what a woman of God is and how they should live. You can read some of her writings here.

Thank you for reading! There are so many more amazing women that I could have included in this post but I'll leave it at that for now. Who are some of your favorite women and why?

Until next time,
Hannah
