A Welcoming Entryway

First impressions leave well, a lasting impression. Why should our homes be any different? I knew I wanted the entryway leading into our home welcoming and warm.

I have always thought Dutch doors were the cutest and deep down wanted to add one to our home one day. I get asked all the time where our front door is from and it is the Farmhouse Dutch Door from Rustica It is one of my favorite things about our home and is by far one of my most asked about pieces.

When decorating our entry, I knew I wanted a bench. A place to sit and take your shoes on and off, and  allow an opportunity to pause. I also knew it had to be low profile and slim, but I wanted something well made and classic.

I found the perfect bench as soon as I stumbled upon this beauty. I was super happy and excited to partner with Maker & Moss on their Spindle Bench. I absolutely love the charm and warmth it brings to our home. The bench is made of solid white oak and a timeless design. It is truly an heirloom piece that I see us carrying down for generations.

The Florence map is a 1960's original street index map that Josh found for me and we had framed. I love the fact that we have a piece of original history of our town hanging in our front living room.

To add a little coziness to this space, I added a linen throw pillow, a couple of home decor books, and of course, a plant. Plants for decor are always a good idea.

We have a rather small entryway that leads into our living room so I decided to keep things simple and classic. More so than not, less is more.
