Creating an Outdoor Space

I can't believe it took us this long to create an outdoor space for us to enjoy! Maybe it was Covid and us having to be home more, or Coco getting a bit older and witnessing her love for the outdoors. I'm just so thankful we have a cozy backyard to enjoy now!

I wanted to take you guys a bit through the process of turning the sad before into an after that we love! First of all, we power washed the patio and decided to level out the concrete patio by filling holes and cracks with mixed concrete. I then primed and painted the concrete slab with Dorian Gray by Sherwin Williams. We purchased it in the patio/outdoor paint finish. I loved the way it turned out!

We chose this Wooden Half-Log edging to frame our landscaping. I decided to go simple with mini pine trees and I love the simplicity. We picked up some stone pavers to create a walkway out into the yard.

Let me remind you what this space looked like before...

Pretty embarrassing, huh? We still have a lot of things we want to accomplish out here...like have a privacy fence built, paint the house white, and add an outdoor dining area. But, home takes time. It's more rewarding (and sanctifying) haha completing projects in stages.

One of my favorite things that we added to the patio is our gazebo by Sunjoy. It helps protect our patio furniture and gives us a cover from the rain. It also creates the coziest atmosphere and we have enjoyed having it so much. You can shop one similar to ours here.

Here are a few more photos of our outdoor space. The furniture is from Article and the outdoor rug is from Rugs USA. If you have any other questions then feel free to drop me a line below!

    1. I purchased them from Amazon a few years ago! They are just galvanized planters!
