Our Nashville Guide Pt. 1

Josh and I had a wonderful getaway in Nashville this past week. We have begun a tradition where we like to take a mini road trip to a nearby city every Valentines. It's a nice excuse to get out of town, explore a new place, and enjoy spending some uninterrupted time with one another.

This year we had decided to explore Nashville. We have been to Nashville a few times but had never taken the time to just explore, get lost, and try new restaurants and browse cute shops.

We booked an overnight stay at the Fox House. This charming tree house has been featured in "Country Living's Tiny Homes" and is absolutely stunning. We had a wonderful stay and felt so cozy, relaxed, and calm in it's tiny space. I felt like it was a bit like The Swiss Family Robinson meets Girl of the Limberlost. Magical.

Josh and I had an amazing time in our little tree house, which when you pull all the curtains and have the soft light flickering throughout the homey space, you feel like you are in a little magical cozy tent.

The couple days we were in Nashville, we had a few things planned but mainly took some recommendations from friends and went exploring, trying out new things and experiences.

We ate supper at The Grilled Cheeserie, sipped drinks at Fido, and enjoyed brandied banana brulee ice cream at Jeni's. I savored the whiskey caramel iced latte at Barista Parlor (my personal favorite coffee shop in the city), ate lunch at Mas Tacos Por Favor (some of THE best tacos I've ever put in my mouth), and then explored the shops of 12th South

It was so fun walking the rainy street of 12th South. Josh and I were complete foodies this trip! Our only worry was saving room for the next meal! Haha.

We first grabbed doughnuts at Five Daughters Bakery and OMG. To die for. We then browsed a few of the shops in the neighborhood. My favorite shop where I picked up a little souvenir (just one, mind you, although I wanted everything!) was Serendipity. So many fun finds! They seriously had the cutest pins, most scrumptious smelling candles, unique reading material, and local beautifully handmade jewelry.

We finished the tour of 12th South with a rosemary honey latte from Frothy Monkey and a visit to White's Mercantile. I found this gorgeous set of Little House on the Prairie and I'm now thinking of pinching my pennies to save up for it. Heart eyes for days.

Speaking of books, we made sure to visit McKay's in Nashville which is a huge warehouse full of used books, vinyl records, movies, games, and more. Although it was a bit over-priced for my taste, it was still a neat place to check out and explore!

Hope you all enjoyed my little Nashville tour. We can't wait to go back again soon (next time with Coco!) and experience more shops and cafes and hit up some of the spots that we didn't have time for this trip. Have any further recommendations for us? Let me know in the comments!

Have a lovely weekend and remember to take time for a little adventure!
