Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days of Summer

If you are a Gilmore Girls fan then congratulations...I've just got that annoying song stuck in your head, haven't I? :) As much as I hate that song, it comes to mind when I think of summer days.

Growing up, my summer days consisted of sleeping in, waking up to blueberry pancakes and back-to-back episodes of Little House on the Prairie. Of playing in the woods, taking trips to the library, swim days with friends, and picnics at the park.

Summer days for me this season (when I have a glorious day off of work) consists of sleeping in, staying in bed to read my current weekly pick, folding laundry while I watch a period drama on Netflix, and thrifting. I have made it a point to hit up my favorite thrift stores and the library bookstore once a week. It's so much fun "treasure hunting" for that perfect dress or that book on your must-read list.

I also LOVE to travel in the summer. Although we haven't been able to travel abroad this year we have enjoyed some small trips here and there (to the beach in Pensacola, Florida, and a couple day trips to Franklin, Tennessee). It's fun exploring isn't it?

Currently, Josh and I are going through the a British crime drama on Netflix. It's called Hinterland and its been pretty interesting! We just finished the third season of Broadchurch and we didn't want it to end!

I just started the book The Fact of a Body and although pretty dark, it's been super interesting. If true crime interests you, than you should definitely check it out! It's been one that's hard to put down and I love that about a book.

I've found some really good finds lately at the thrift store and some great books to add to my library. I'll have to blog about them soon!

What are some of your favorite things to do in the summer?

    1. That's so sweet of you to say, Katie! You totally should! It's been a lot of fun and a way for me to express myself creatively. It's also like an online journal of sorts for me. I highly recommend it! :)
