My Summer Reading List

Fellow book lovers, it's been awhile! I thought it was high time for a blog post on one of my favorite subjects! As you may have noticed, I have not been reading nearly as much this year as in the previous year, but I am striving to challenge myself this summer to some new reading material. I have enjoyed some good books this year that I hope to share with you soon but I thought I might post some books I have on my to-read list for the next few months...

Every Bitter Thing is Sweet
by Sara Hagerty

I've had a couple friends recommend this book to me. Sara shares very intimately with struggles in her marriage, the pain of infertility, joy of adoption, and finding God's purposes through it all. I just ordered this book and can't wait to read it for myself!

We Were the Lucky Ones
by Georgia Hunter

This girl sure does love a good World War II story. This particular novel is based on a true story and revolves around a Polish family during the Jewish Holocaust.

The Sound of Gravel
by Ruth Wariner

A coming-of-age memoir about a girl who grew up in a polygamist cult where authorities turned a blind-eye. Ruth was the thirty-ninth of her father's forty-two children. This is her story of determination and resilience as she forges her way to a better life.

Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy
by Eric Metaxas

One that's been on my list for ages - I am determined to read it this year! Bonhoeffer was one of the men who made it his mission to bring Hitler down. I believe the size of the book has always intimidated me but I just need to take the plunge! I'm sure it will be worth every second of my time.

This list is open-ended but these are just a few that I definitely want to read this up-coming season.
What books are on your summer reading list?
